Thoughtfulness: A Pagan Kindness Spell Ritual

Thoughtfulness is the practice of listening, paying attention and taking others’ needs into account before your own. It’s being mindful that how you treat others reflects upon you and whether or not you are willing to improve someone’s day. Taking five minutes for this ritual will improve your relationships. So take 5 minutes out of your day today and do something nice for someone else – you both deserve it!

The Power of Thoughtfulness

Thoughtfulness is a quality that we should strive for in our day-to-day lives. It can be as simple as holding the door open for someone, to taking the time to make your partner’s favorite meal. These are small gestures that can help build up a person’s self-esteem and empower them to go out into the world and do great things.

When someone has shown you their thoughtfulness, it’s important to let them know that you’ve noticed. You can do something small for them in return or simply thank them for their actions. Showing appreciation is a great way to encourage positive behavior in others.

The Kindness Spell Ritual

The first step of this ritual is writing down five acts of thoughtfulness you will perform during the week ahead.

Next, recite these phrases as you light an orange candle: “I am thoughtful because I am kind.”, “I am thoughtful because I listen.”, “I am thoughtful because I show compassion.”, “I am thoughtful because I take responsibility.”, “I am thoughtful because I have integrity.”

Focus on one of these phrases at a time and keep it with you throughout the week. Focus on the meaning of each act of kindness to make the spell effective. If your first act of kindness is to buy a coffee for someone in need, engage them by asking their name and telling them why you are being thoughtful. It may not seem like much, but it can make all the difference in someone’s day.

Set a Thoughfulness Intention Each Day

Having an intention each day can help you take care of yourself and be kind to yourself. Here are some examples of intentions you could set for the day.

  • Today I will take care of myself by doing something nice for myself before bed.
  • Today I will take time for my own needs before taking care of someone else’s needs.
  • Today I will do something nice for someone else, even if it’s just a smile or compliment. It doesn’t have to cost anything!
  • Today I will share with others what makes me happy today.
  • Today I will let go of things that don’t serve me any longer.
  • Today I will listen to my intuition more often.

To help with your intention setting, create a ritual you can use to set your intentions each day. You don’t have to do anything more than ask, but it is also okay if you’d like to add any other forms of magic you’d like to incorporate in. For example, we could light candles to burn away negativity or write out our intentions on paper so they get written into our subconscious.
